IDR is seeking a IT Field Engineer, POS to join one of our top clients for an opportunity supporting retail locations in Middle Tennessee. This role involves hands-on technical support and maintenance of POS systems, back-office equipment, and network infrastructure at multiple retail sites, primarily in a travel-intensive environment. The organization operates within the retail and convenience store industry, focusing on supporting VeriFone environments and related hardware.
Position Overview for the IT Field Engineer, POS:
- Provides on-site support and maintenance for retail POS systems, back-office hardware, and network equipment.
- Specializes in VeriFone POS devices (such as Ruby, Sapphire, Commander) and associated hardware.
- Coordinates support processes, documentation, and training activities across multiple store locations.
- Conducts troubleshooting, installations, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance to ensure seamless technology operations.
- Works primarily in the field supporting retail environments with a focus on excellent customer service and problem resolution.
Requirements for the IT Field Engineer, POS:
- High school diploma or G.E.D., with an Associate's degree in IT, Computer & Information Systems, Computer Science, preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in desktop support, helpdesk, or customer support environments.
- Prior experience supporting Point-of-Sale (POS) systems, especially VeriFone VASC, Commander, or similar devices.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot hardware and network issues, including printers, scanners, and payment terminals.
- Valid VeriFone VASC Commander/Topaz/Ruby 2 Certification or equivalent, with willingness to obtain if not already certified.
