Job Summary: Registered Nurse provides high-acuity patient care with a background in Intensive Care Nursing and Full-Spectrum Anesthesia Care, including General, Regional, Neuraxial, and Monitored Anesthesia Care (MAC) sedation. This role supports adult, obstetric, geriatric, and pediatric patients in both inpatient and outpatient surgical settings, with additional responsibilities in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab (CCNE).

• Education:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing Graduate from a college or university accredited by National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC), or The Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)
• Licensure:
  • Shall have and maintain a current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands
• Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is recommended, but not required
• Experience:
  • Two years of experience in nursing
  • At least one year experience in Critical Care or Cath Lab

Key Responsibilities:

• Demonstrated experience administering pharmacologic agents, including dosage calculations, indications, effects, side effects, and complications.
• Experience with conscious sedation or willingness to obtain training and certification.
• Proficient in accurate, timely patient care documentation, including medications, procedures, patient education, and follow-up care.
• Ability to stand for extended periods while wearing up to 25 lbs. of PPE.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology, cardiopulmonary systems, pharmacology, medical terminology, aseptic technique, resuscitation, medical ethics, and use of medical computer systems.
• Execute physician orders, assess patients using the nursing process, and document care in the medical record.
• Communicate pertinent patient information to physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
• Provide pre-, intra-, and post-procedural care, including patient preparation, monitoring, recovery, and discharge planning.
• Administer IV infusions and IV push medications (e.g., sedatives, narcotics, vasoactive agents, antihypertensives, antiarrhythmics, thrombolytics, emergency drugs) per protocols; assess and document patient response.
• Educate patients and families on medications, procedures, and post-care instructions.
• Apply and interpret cardiac monitoring, 12-lead EKGs, and rhythm strips; recognize and intervene in emergent cardiac changes.
• Operate and monitor specialized equipment including IV pumps, cardiac monitors, ventilators, pacemakers, IABP, Impella, and other unit-specific devices.
• Manage patients with invasive and non-invasive hemodynamic monitoring (arterial lines, CVP, Swan-Ganz catheters); interpret data and report abnormalities.
• Respond effectively to emergency situations, including cardiac or respiratory arrest, hemorrhage, and shock; initiate life-saving measures when required.
• Coordinate care across departments (Cath Lab, ICU, PACU, recovery, nursing units) to ensure continuity and optimal outcomes.
• Prepare, maintain, and circulate in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory for routine and emergency procedures, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Support cardiovascular, interventional radiology, vascular, pulmonary, GI, EP, and emergency procedures, including pre-procedure assessment and post-procedure recovery.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, committees, education, and staff training.
• Maintain compliance with all policies, procedures, ethical/legal standards, infection control, and patient safety requirements.
• Assist with administrative duties including chart preparation, supply management, and program support (safety, radiation, infection control).
• Support cardiopulmonary clinic activities such as stress testing, EKGs, Holter monitoring, and other assigned duties.
• Float to other units as needed, with Cath Lab responsibilities taking priority.

Work Environment & Schedule: Monday to Friday, 0600 to 1630 + on call hours

Compensation & Benefits: Up to $61.19 + H&W
