Invariant Corporation is seeking a talented and motivated Shipping and Receiving Specialist responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring materials are received, stored and distributed efficiently. This role requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a government contractor environment.
Duties Include:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Unload, sort, and store incoming materials in designated locations.
- Prepare, package, label, and ship outgoing orders accurately and on time.
- Maintain shipping and receiving records, including inventory transactions and shipment documentation.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as required.
- Coordinate with carriers, vendors, and internal departments regarding shipments and deliveries.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Report damaged, missing, or incorrect items to supervisors and initiate corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with company safety procedures and warehouse regulations.
- Enter Shipment, Receiving and Inventory Movement in ERP system
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Requirements:
- Candidate must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, or inventory control preferred.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with ERP systems.
- Ability to read shipping documents, packing slips, and purchase orders.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.
- Detail oriented with a commitment to a high level of customer service
- Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers, management, and customers
Preferred qualifications include:
- Additional years of stockroom and/or material kitting experience is a definite plus
- Experience working in a government contracting environment
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance, if necessary
Requires ability to:
- Work well in a small, fast-paced and mission-driven environment with co-workers, management, and clients
- Demonstrate innovation, quick learning, excellent communication skills and adaptive thinking
- Work independently with minimal supervision, and to make rational decisions, and to exercise good judgment is essential while also proving an understanding of working in a team environment.
Work Environment
- Office, Lab, Warehouse and Field environment
- Ability to work in outdoor environment in a wide variety of weather conditions
Physical Requirements
- Sitting for extended periods of time at desk, in telecoms/meetings with peers, management
- Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to use stairs or elevators for access between floors and multiple buildings at customer worksites and Invariant facilities
