IDR is seeking a Software Engineer II - Cinematic Content Tools to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Los Angeles, California. In this role, you’ll build and maintain content-creation tools and workflows that empower artists, animators, and other creatives inside a modern game development pipeline. You’ll collaborate across disciplines to shape technical direction and deliver reliable, high-quality tooling that supports cinematic and camera-focused content.
Position Overview for the Software Engineer II - Cinematic Content Tools:
- Design, build, and maintain tools and processes that support cinematic content creation in a game development environment
- Partner closely with art, animation, and cross-discipline teams to gather requirements and translate them into robust solutions
- Contribute to technical design, implementation, code quality, and maintainability standards across the tooling codebase
- Mentor and support other engineers, helping elevate engineering practices and collaboration across the team
Requirements for the Software Engineer II - Cinematic Content Tools:
- 6+ years of professional game development experience
- 3+ years building tools for cross-disciplinary teams, including direct support of artists/creatives
- Professional experience developing tools in Unreal Engine (Unreal 4 or Unreal 5)
- Experience developing cinematic and/or camera tools and workflows within Unreal
- Experience extending or integrating DCC tools (e.g., Maya, 3DS Max) and strong grasp of common software design patterns
