IDR is seeking a VMware Horizon Engineer to join one of our top clients for an opportunity remotely out of California. This role offers the chance to work on critical virtual desktop infrastructure projects within a government environment, utilizing your VMware Horizon expertise to enhance enterprise solutions.
This will be an onsite / hybrid model (4-5 days onsite per week) in SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA!!!!
Position Overview for the VMware Horizon Engineer:
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise VDI solutions using VMware Horizon.
- Serve as the technical lead and escalation point for Horizon-related issues.
- Optimize performance, scalability, and user experience across the VDI environment.
- Manage Horizon components including Connection Servers, Unified Access Gateways (UAG), App Volumes, and Dynamic Environment Manager (DEM).
- Perform upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management of the Horizon platform.
Requirements for the VMware Horizon Engineer:
- 5+ years of experience with VMware Horizon or enterprise VDI platforms.
- Strong knowledge of VMware vSphere, ESXi, and virtual infrastructure design.
- Experience with Horizon components such as UAG, App Volumes, and DEM.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, DNS, networking, and authentication systems.
- Experience with performance troubleshooting and VDI optimization.
